Data collected
- When you apply for membership: your name, email address, professional status, professional body and membership or licence number if you have one, the city where you work, and the contact details you provide.
- When you visit this site: server logs (IP address, browser information, time of visit) and the cookies the site needs in order to work.
How the data is used
To assess your membership application, to invite approved members to the network channels, and to send announcements about the network. Your data is not used for marketing and is not sold to third parties.
Legal basis
Explicit consent — UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a). You give consent by submitting the application form, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Sharing
Your application data is not transferred outside the network. When you join the WhatsApp group your telephone number becomes visible to the other members of that group; this follows from the way WhatsApp itself works. Site hosting is provided by SiteGround and the form service by Google, and those providers’ own privacy policies apply.
Retention period
For as long as your membership continues. Your data is deleted when you leave the network, or earlier if you ask for it to be deleted.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, to object to its processing, and to withdraw your consent. For any of these requests, write to info@tanuk.org.uk.
You can complain about how your data is processed to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint
